SO the season is beginning to approach the half way point and the Lions currently sit in 4th place after some impressive performances.
Confident 4-1 wins against both Braunton thirds and Clovelly have helped boost the Lions towards the better end of the table but some poor results against Ilfracombe and, in particular, Hartland have kept their feet firmly on the ground.
The next few games see the blues away to mid-table Woolacombe, a game that most would consider quite important to their promotion hopes, followed by entertaining Sporting Barum and Fremington at home. Manager Fred Avery will be hoping his side find some consistency as they look to prove themselves as genuine contenders for promotion.
In other news, striker Colin Kennerson has moved back to old club and arch rivals South Molton. Colin has stated personal reasons for the move but rumour has it that a failed court super-injuction could been the true motivation. We wish Colin all the best for the upcoming season and are sure South Molton are going to need his skills to turn their poor season around.
We look forward to seeing your support! Thanks!

Congratulations to the High Bick FC lads for getting through to the final of the YMCA cup after an epic 5-3 win over Landkey. Goals from Chris 'Worm' Hutchings (2), Fraser Reeves, Jason Hammond and Luke Hook provided the ammunition to see off a hard fought battle. Final will be played at South Molton on Saturday the 12th May, KO to be confirmed.
High Bickington FC would like to send their best wishes to Clovelly's Rob Kearney who has had to have surgery on a thigh injury sustained during sundays game. Everyone at the club wishes Rob a speedy recovery.
Lack of consistency seems to be the only hinderence to the Lions title push this season and no where was it more evident than the blues 3-1 defeat at the hands of Hartland at home. The loss of several key players including usually ever-present keeper Ian Stewart was no excuse as stand in Fraser Reeves showed the skills that saw him make appearances at county level between the sticks.
Manager Fred Avery was hoping to see a response after his teams previous performance and a response he got with his team again dominating Clovelly in a 4-1 victory that took the Lions to an impressive 22 goals in 5 away games this season.
The High Bickington fans were hoping to see a repeat of their teams previous dominant home display but were left dissapointed by a frustrating 4-3 loss to Ilfracombe.
The Lions return to away duties didn't affect their football as they strolled to a 4-1 victory in the blistering heat in Braunton. The highlight being two well-taken finishes from Mike Boundy making his comeback after serving a suspension.
High Bickington dominated AFC Anchor with a fantastic display of attacking football to satisfy the home fans in their first game of the season with a 6-0 victory.
This weekend sees the Lions finally make a home appearance! High Bick are hosts to AFC Anchor as they look to put the cup defeat behind them! (KO 3pm)
High Bickington suffered a heavy defeat after a disappointing display away to Bratton Flemming on Saturday. A 5-1 hammering dumping the lions out of the cup at the first hurdle.
High Bickington's next outing will be on Saturday away to Northside Atlantic at Victoria Park in Bideford 3pm KO - Feel free to come and help spur on the Lions to victory!
The Lions continued their rise up the table with a comfortable win away to Putford. Goals from Fraser Reeves, Darren Avery, Jason Hammond and a rare strike from full back Craig Rippon ensured a 4-1 victory that quickly erased the memory of the result against Fremington on Tuesday.
Come and support the Lions tonight away at Fremington FC - KO is 6:15pm! Hope to see you there!
